The StreetCar Disabled Drivers Scholarship assessment days have now taken place with Bristol Motor Club and Loughborough Car Club, with four winners announced.
Twenty participants took part across the two days, the programme began with acclimatisation drives before moving into timed and assessed runs, with experienced competitors accompanying participants in the car throughout the events.
Alongside their driving performance on the day, participants were also assessed on their motivations, ambitions and enthusiasm for becoming involved in grassroots motorsport.
The scholarship offers access to the Motorsport UK StreetCar Toyota Yaris, and free entry fees for one season of AutoSOLOs with their respective Club. The support is designed to help both drivers build confidence, gain competitive experience and take their first steps into motorsport with practical backing across their opening events.
A huge congratulations to Daniel Phillips and Pete Donnelly at Bristol, and Cameron Makepeace and Ryan Lawrence-Cokayne from Loughborough for being awarded with the Scholarship for 2026.
The winners have been out competing already, with Cameron finishing 3rd in class and 15th overall at the Loughborough evening grass Autotest on the 2nd of June. Daniel and Pete both competed at the Abingdon CAR-nival AutoSOLO on the 6th of June, with Daniel finishing 14th in class and 47th overall, and Pete 16th in class and 51st overall.
We look forward to seeing how the winners progress throughout the year!
