Club Together – Loughborough Car Club

StreetCar was created with the intention to showcase the accessible routes into motorsport for all. It is therefore fitting that for this month’s Club Together, we highlight Loughborough Car Club and their efforts to make motorsport more accessible.

Loughborough Car Club launched the innovative Disabled Driver Scholarship in 2010 with the intention to open the world of grassroots motorsport to a whole new demographic. 15 years later the Scholarship is still going strong and expanding to reach new communities.

In 2024, Motorsport UK in partnership with Loughborough Car Club and the FIA Sport Grant Programme introduced the StreetCar Disabled Driver Scholarship as three new adapted cars were brought into the programme.

For 2025 Loughborough Car Club have continued to support the StreetCar Disabled Driver Scholarship and have been fundamental to the expansion of the initiative. As the Scholarship assessment expands to three separate Assessment Days, the Club have continued to offer their expertise as they plan to attend each event to ensure smooth operations throughout.

Throughout 2025, Loughborough Car Club will continue to run their extensive calendar of events, with their famous AutoSOLO scheduled at Coventry MotoFest on the 31 May and their ever-anticipated grass Autotest season on the horizon.
