Club Together – Brecon Motor Club

Brecon Motor Club recently held a successful Motor Show in the centre of Brecon, hosted in the Market Hall. The last car show held in the Market Hall took place in 1968, and this inspired the Club to revive the event in 2025. Once again, iconic cars were showcased, and the event proved to be a great success.

The local cars on display had performed exceptionally well at events across the area. Exhibits ranged from John Price’s iconic Metro 6R4 to Joseph Palmer’s Micra, which achieved an impressive third overall at the recent Builth Wells Stages.

In addition to the cars, the event featured food stalls, a raffle and a Brecon Motor Club stand. This gave the Club an opportunity to speak with attendees, promote upcoming events and highlight the range of opportunities available within the Club. The show attracted more than 1,000 visitors, with several people signing up to become members on the day.

Alongside the Motor Show, the Club organises a number of events throughout the year, including a Winter Navigational Scatter, a two day Summer Hill Climb, the Black Mountains Tour and the Gremlin Rally. You can take part in these events as a competitor or get involved through marshalling and event organisation. This provides valuable experience both on and off the stages, helping newcomers build confidence and develop practical motorsport skills.

Anyone interested in competing in the Club’s Winter Navigation Scatter Series through StreetCar can enter without being a Brecon Motor Club member. All that is required is a Motorsport UK RS Clubman licence and an entry fee, making it an accessible and affordable way to get started in motorsport.

In addition to its competitive events, Brecon Motor Club also runs a variety of social activities. These include monthly social nights, film nights, quiz nights, guest speakers, treasure hunts and organised run-to-the-pub evenings, helping to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for both members and newcomers.

If you are based in Central Wales, do not hesitate to get in contact with the Club and find out how you can begin your motorsport journey today.
