Motorsport UK StreetCar connects with young motorsport enthusiasts at Greenpower International Finals

Motorsport UK’s StreetCar and Inclusion teams attended the Greenpower International Finals at Goodwood Circuit on 18th October, helping young people and their families discover the many ways to get involved in motorsport.

Organised by the Greenpower Education Trust, a UK-based charity, the event brings together young people who have taken on the challenge of building and racing electric vehicles, combining the excitement of motorsport with practical learning in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

Each year, more than 10,000 students take part in Greenpower activities through schools, colleges and community teams, developing skills in engineering, teamwork and problem-solving while gaining hands-on experience.

The International Finals provided an opportunity to celebrate these achievements and highlight the different pathways available within motorsport, both on and off the track.

Throughout the event, the Motorsport UK team was on hand to share advice and information with young participants, families and volunteers about how to take their next steps in the sport.

From getting involved in grassroots competition through StreetCar to volunteering as a marshal or exploring technical roles in engineering and vehicle mechanics, visitors had the opportunity to learn about the different ways to become part of the motorsport community.

The team also hosted an interactive gymkhana, showcasing an accessible and engaging form of motorsport and giving visitors a closer look at the skills involved.

The event highlighted the important role initiatives such as Greenpower play in introducing young people to motorsport, helping them develop practical skills and discover opportunities to get involved in the sport.
