Motorsport UK’s StreetCar Festivals have rounded off a summer of grassroots motorsport, bringing together clubs, volunteers and enthusiasts across Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

From EcoRally Scotland in Dundee and the Car Club Festival in Malvern to the BARC Wales Sprint Championship and the end-of-season event at Kirkistown, the festivals showcased the variety of opportunities available to get involved in motorsport.

At each stop, visitors had the chance to meet local motor clubs, speak with experienced volunteers and discover beginner-friendly disciplines, including AutoSOLOs, Autotests and Touring Assemblies.

The festivals highlighted how accessible grassroots motorsport can be, with many activities offering the opportunity to take part in an everyday road car, without the need for specialist equipment or previous competition experience.

Whether completely new to motorsport, returning after time away or looking for a local club to join, visitors could explore the different ways to get involved and learn more about events taking place in their area.

Travelling across the UK also provided an opportunity to connect with different motorsport communities and celebrate the variety of activities available through StreetCar. While each festival offered something different, they all shared the same aim: helping more people enjoy motorsport, more often.

Local motor clubs and volunteers played an important role throughout the season, sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm with visitors and helping them understand how to take their next steps in the sport.

From experiencing motorsport as a passenger to speaking with club members about upcoming events, the festivals offered opportunities for visitors to discover a new side of motorsport and find out how they could become part of their local community.

As the festival season comes to a close, Motorsport UK would like to thank everyone who attended, took part or supported the events, with special thanks to the clubs, organisers, officials and volunteers who helped make the summer possible.
