A Scholarship Season to Remember

As the 2024 StreetCar Disabled Driver Scholarship comes to a close, we look back on what was a successful season for Dominic Pearson.
Dominic has always been interested in motorsport, however it wasn’t until he attended the StreetCar Disabled Driver Scholarship assessment day in 2024 that he had the chance to get behind the wheel.
After winning the Scholarship, Dominic was given access to an adapted Toyota Yaris and a fully funded year of AutoSOLOs, which he made great use of. Dominic has thrown himself into his Scholarship year, becoming a valued member of the Sporting Car Club of Norfolk (SCCoN), regularly attending Club nights and competing in events wherever possible.
“The biggest benefit is that being disabled, you can end up feeling isolated. But being part of the Car Club, it’s given me something to do, and a real sense of purpose.”
On the competitive side of things, Dominic has gone from strength to strength. After competing in 5 AutoSOLOs throughout the year.
Dominic’s car control has continued to improve, allowing him to climb the ladder at SCCoN with his best result of the season being an impressive 4th in class.
SCCoN have welcomed Dominic into the fold from his very first event and will continue to encourage him to attend events long after his Scholarship year has finished. After finishing his Scholarship season, Dominic continues to be dedicated to helping the Club, even offering to assist at the SCCoN StreetCar Disabled Driver Scholarship Assessment Day on the 27 of April.
