Club Together – Loughborough Car Club
For this month’s Club Together segment, we visit a Club at the very heart of motorsport in the East Midlands. Loughborough Car Club have been part of the StreetCar family from the very beginning and have continued to embody what it means to be a StreetCar Club.
The Club are known for their expertise in Autotesting and host an exciting range of events to keep members busy with AutoSOLOs through the cold winter months, all leading up to their much anticipated grass Autotest season in the summer.
The Club are proactive and engage with many different motorsport activities, most notably, the Loughborough Car Club Disabled Driver Scholarship. Launched in 2010, the Club utilised their expertise to create a unique opportunity to allow disabled drivers to experience the thrill of an Autotest.
The Club understands the importance of maintaining an active presence in the community, and the benefits this can have in promoting their motor club. Alongside their continuous support of the Disabled Driver Scholarship, they have also taken on the responsibility of running two different events at Motofest in Coventry. On the 1st of June they will be hosting an all forwards slalom AutoSOLO at Motofest, which will be a spectacle for all those in attendance.
Loughborough Car Club was formed in 1959 and are constantly looking for new innovative ways to encourage newcomers to compete with StreetCar. This year, the 7 round grass Autotest season will commence on the 4th of June and will welcome any interested competitors. All you need to get involved is; your standard road car, RS Clubman, Club membership, entry fee and your love for motorsport!
