Club Together – Scottish Sporting Car Club

For this month’s Club Together, we travel up to Scotland to visit the club hosting the curtain raiser for the StreetCar British EcoRally. Scottish Sporting Car Club are a vibrant club based in the Clyde Valley area, that have taken the opportunity to host the opener of the StreetCar British EcoRally in their stride.

Scottish Sporting Car Club is one of Scotland’s oldest car clubs and have constantly adapted with the times as they plan new and exciting events each year. The club offer a number of events throughout the year including a series of AutoSOLOs, a 2-day Sprint event at Kames Circuit, and several Treasure Hunts.

The club have embraced the introduction of Electric Vehicles into motorsport, with their most recent Treasure Hunt being won by an EV. In 2024, they even provided support to the EcoRally Scotland FIA candidate event with two of the entries representing Scottish Sporting Car Club

In 2025 the club are as strong as ever and are always contributing to innovative developments within the Scottish motorsport landscape. Last summer the club held a charity AutoSOLO, raising £1000 to be split evenly between Beatson Cancer Charity and Abused Men in Scotland. For this effort the club was awarded with “Best Grassroots Motorsport Event” at the 2025 Scottish Motorsport Awards.

Club Chair Robert May summed up the club perfectly by saying “With the current membership of over 150 and with sell-out events, the club continues to go from strength to strength. This will only be maintained through constant evolution which our predominantly under 40-year-old management team work tirelessly to achieve. We look forward to an exciting 2025.”

The club’s forward-thinking nature makes them the perfect candidate to host the first event of the StreetCar British EcoRally! Find out how you can get involved in motorsport this year, by submitting your ‘get started’ form here.
