How the Scholarship works...

In partnership with Loughborough Car Club, the StreetCar Disabled Driver Scholarship was introduced on the 11th of May 2024 running one assessment day. In 2025 we have had a record 20 drivers take part in the StreetCar Disabled Driver Scholarship, held at three locations across the UK.

The scholarship aims to make the sport more accessible for disabled participants, drawing on the success of the StreetCar initiative – celebrating grassroots motorsport opportunities for all.

The Prizes

The winners of the StreetCar Disabled Driver Scholarship will be decided by a panel of judges. The candidates are not assessed on speed and skill but based on a number of different factors such as; commitment, progress, attitude, etc.

The winners of the Scholarship will be awarded:

A fully funded season of AutoSOLOs/Autotests at a participating StreetCar club
Access to one of the adapted vehicles to compete in events in the local area of the club

The first StreetCar Festival of the year!

The Gloucestershire hill climb was the perfect setting to kick off the StreetCar Festival for 2025 as this iconic venue, situated amidst the beautiful Cotswolds countryside, accommodated for everything StreetCar is about. Across the weekend the event facilitated a host of StreetCar disciplines, including Autotest, Rally, and Car Trial, showcasing affordable and accessible motorsport.

Electrifying results from round one of the StreetCar British EcoRally

On Saturday 26 April, the first StreetCar British EcoRally event set off from the Scottish Sporting Car Club for the curtain raiser of the StreetCar British EcoRally and produced a superbly executed event. On a misty Scottish morning, four crews took on Rallye-Donia seeking victory and a £100 discount off their entry to EcoRally Scotland. For most crews, this was their first experience of rallying, and the event provided them with a simple, yet exciting entrance into the sport.

A Scholarship Season to Remember

As the 2024 StreetCar Disabled Driver Scholarship comes to a close, we look back on what was a successful season for Dominic Pearson. Dominic has always been interested in motorsport, however it wasn’t until he attended the StreetCar Disabled Driver Scholarship assessment day in 2024 that he had the chance to get behind the wheel.

Created by Motorsport UK in partnership with Loughborough Car Club, the scholarship aims to make the sport more accessible for disabled participants, drawing on the success of the StreetCar initiative – celebrating grassroots motorsport opportunities for all.
