StreetCar triumphant in National Class during ecoRally Scotland 2025

In the National Class, for ecoRally Scotland, it was another podium for the daring duo of James Hoyles and Iain Tuillie representing Ilkley and District Motor Club, defending their title in the ecoRally Scotland event for the second time in their Honda e:Ny1.

Motorsport UK’s StreetCar programme saw the winning regional talent of Sam Naylor and Iain Carr, placing second – truly going from StreetCar contender to FIA Rally driver in under six months, from the Scottish Sporting Car Club.

Iain Tuillie commented, “It’s great to see so many of the guys competing in the National Class during this weekend had done some of the StreetCar events, and one or two who hadn’t done any motorsport before, so it’s definitely caught people’s attention as a way to come and look at a new branch of the sport.”

Sam, who drove the Kia Niro, added, “We didn’t quite know what we were signing up for… we kind of took to it like ducks to water really! I wouldn’t say we did stellar…”

Co-driver Iain concluded, “We’ve continually learned and we’ve continually improved!”

It’s easier than you might think to get involved in motorsport in your everyday road car… With Motorsport UK’s StreetCar programme you can do just that!
