12 days of StreetCar: How to Cross Country… 

September saw the Car Trial season return after it’s summer break, with Maidstone and Mid Kent Motor Club (MMKMC) hosting their famous Brian Lewis Trial. The trial is the last off-road event of the season, and is one that is not to be missed! 

From celebrating our 676 UK motor clubs to showcasing how to get involved in motorsport, 2024 was the inaugural edition of National Motorsport Week -   set to return from 10 to 20 July in 2025!  

2024 saw our inaugural StreetCar Festival take place in our Bicester Motion home, celebrating grassroots motorsport and its vibrant community across the UK.  

The key to the co-driver role is very much being able to work as a team, no matter the level at which you are taking part. From reading pace notes, to studying the stages and really knowing your driver, navigation is an art form in itself.  

May saw a record 16 disabled motorsport enthusiasts attended the Streetcar Disabled Driver Scholarship event at Motorsport UK’s Headquarters at Bicester Motion. 

Car control is not something you can learn in the classroom; it is something only experience can teach. April saw StreetCar celebrate up and coming motorsport talent across the UK… 

With numerous programmes celebrating women in motorsport here at Motorsport UK, March saw StreetCar catch up with Katie Smith, who started off marshalling at the Hughes Rally with her grandad during primary school.

In February, StreetCar celebrated the icons from years gone by… Classic Cars! There was no better way to beat the winter blues than to witness the battle between two iconic British classics… the mighty Mini. 

We kicked off 2024 by celebrating getting into Cross Country, so grab your wellies and get ready to get down and dirty… 

StreetCar is the perfect place to start your motorsport journey if you’re looking to progress your skills and ability behind the wheel. Liam Brotherhood, who was featured in our ‘star in the making’ story back in April, exemplifies progression within StreetCar.

For this month’s Club Together, we review a Club based in Yorkshire, that provides a perfect platform for progression within motorsport. Beverley & District Motor Club illustrated their commitment to growing grassroots motorsport when they signed up to the StreetCar Charter earlier this year. The Club is populated by committee members with extensive rallying experience, which they use to produce expertly run events.

Typically, most competitors come through the StreetCar pathway to search for an affordable form of motorsport as they enter the sport for the first time. However, this is not the case for a former F3 driver who just couldn’t shake that motorsport bug and sought out an affordable way to keep his love for motorsport alive.
