Club Together – Beverley and District Motor Club

For this month’s Club Together, we review a Club based in Yorkshire, that provides a perfect platform for progression within motorsport. Beverley and District Motor Club illustrated their commitment to growing grassroots motorsport when they signed up to the StreetCar Charter earlier this year. The Club is populated by committee members with extensive rallying experience, which they use to produce expertly run events.

From Formula 3 to StreetCar Novice

Typically, most competitors come through the StreetCar pathway to search for an affordable form of motorsport as they enter the sport for the first time. However, this is not the case for a former F3 driver who just couldn’t shake that motorsport bug and sought out an affordable way to keep his love for motorsport alive.

Regulations allow competitors to be as young as 14 in certain StreetCar disciplines, and throughout the year we have seen the benefits that competing in StreetCar can have for young drivers. Becca Challis from Southern Car Club has showcased just how easy it is to begin competing, as she has continued to develop her skills within the AutoSOLO discipline.

The first student-led StreetCar Club

Oxford Universities Motorsport Foundation (OUMF) have become the first student-led motor Club to sign up to the StreetCar charter. With the help of OUMF, StreetCar will be able to further showcase the different avenues that students can take to get started in motorsport.

If you’re looking to get involved in StreetCar, chances are that Weald Motor Club will have an event for you! For this month’s Club Together, we take you over to Kent to highlight an umbrella StreetCar Club who have implemented an innovative concept to bring new blood into the sport!

The Car Trial season is back!

As the Car Trial season returns after it’s summer break, Maidstone and Mid Kent Motor Club (MMKMC) are gearing up for their famous Brian Lewis Trial. On the 29^th of September 2024 MMKMC will be hosting their last off-road event of the season, so if you’re yet to enter the exciting world of Car Trials, this is a fantastic opportunity to get started.
